Our Team

Andrew is Co-Founder and Vice President of Second|Site, where he focuses his geospatial expertise and leadership on projects focused on the evolution of GIS into the augmented reality medium. Andrew also serves as GIS Manager for the Office of Academic and Research Computing Services at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and has served as principal investigator for multiple federally, state, and privately funded GIS research initiatives. Andrew provides consultation for conservation GIS projects through A Carroll GIS for several national and regional nonprofit organizations. Recent projects include media and marketing materials development for the Trust for Public Land; green infrastructure assessments for Walker County, GA and the greater Asheville, NC region; GIS project management and analysis for the Open Space Institute, and continued mapping support for the Southeast Watershed Forum. Andrew earned a B.S. in Earth and Environmental Science at Furman University in 1999 and a M.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2002. Matthew is the Creative Director and Co-Founder of Second|Site. His primary focus is directed towards product development and creative problem solving. Throughout the development process Matthew maintains the highest design and quality control standards for all Second|Site products and their underlying technical infrastructure. Recently Matthew has been a part of media development projects for the Trust for Public Land and Bike! Walk! Northwest Georgia.

 

Prior to Second|Site Matthew worked for the Knoxville Museum of Art as the Registrar and Chief Preparator. Matthew also has a long background in electronic controls and fabrication as the Design/Service Manager for A Carroll Company, a mechanical contracting firm. In 2004 Matthew earned a B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Taylor McDonald serves as the President and Co-Founder of Second|Site, a technology company focused on bridging geospatial information with the Augmented Reality environment. Based in Chattanooga, TN, the team at Second|Site has a combined 40 years of professional experience in GIS technologies and media development for various federal, state, and privately funded GIS research initiatives. Prior to Second|Site, Taylor helped build the Environmental Division for Wilson and Associates, P.C. As Senior Environmental Projects Manager, Taylor developed and administered systems for successful environmental compliance for over $700 million in award winning federal, state and local construction projects. Taylor and Andy are both graduates of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Environmental Science Masters program in 2002. Taylor has a BS in Biology from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.
